When we filmed our Sound Design Kickstart, free online course, we had some fun with Brendan and Jamie doing reaction videos. Basically I asked them to watch a clip and they would analyze the sound design. I chose an ad and a few famous movie clips.
This video is a reaction to a wonderful toy ad for the brand Brio. The film itself is stunning and the direction is fantastic, but the sound design really shines on this film. There are so many subtle things happening both musically and with the sound design.
Films like this go to show how sound design, composition, and visuals all have to integrate as much as possible to achieve success. This example is worth examining for it’s inspiring, fun, and high quality approach.
